Howdy :)
I hope everyone had a great end of year! Personally, I ended 2022 on quite a high (2 weeks in Europe). 2023, however, I’ve almost entirely spent watching Love Island Australia Season 4. So I figure it can really only go up from here.
We left off in June, after I decided to apply to grad school, and right around the time when two wonderful new friends landed in my lap and, of course, made me question how immediately I actually wanted to leave this city.
While I missed writing these every week, I told myself I had to submit my applications before starting back up again. I’ll give you one guess how that bribe worked out (it’s okay, we’re trying again this year).
Work picked up (which I’ve been told always happens when you “decide” to “get out” of the “industry”), and I got so intimidated by the application process that I ignored it completely for a few months.
In stopping these weekly writings, it seems I lost my momentum in other areas of life. So I’m bringing them back, under a different name (and soon a different logo, don’t worry), in hopes that they’ll kickstart my artistic life force and keep my creative muscles moving.
I expect they’ll be shorter, on average, than the 22 writings, and hopefully a little more experimental! Think: less thematic, and more about the process of writing and making itself. At least that’s the goal, you’ll have to stick with me to see where it actually goes.
If you’d prefer to move forward with just the memory of our sweet sweet time together back in June, by all means do not feel obligated to stay for this revival! I get it! No one needed an Avatar sequel! I promise I will not even know if you unsubscribe. Be free, friend.
